Who runs this site, what the information is for, and what it is not.

The short answer

Best College Rankings (bestcollegerankings.com) is published and operated by 3 Enrollment Marketing. Questions about this site may be sent to research@bestcollegerankings.com. To report a factual error, email corrections@bestcollegerankings.com.

Site operator

3 Enrollment Marketing operates Best College Rankings as an independent reference site.3 Enrollment Marketing provides enrollment marketing services to colleges and universities; this website is a separate editorial and data product. Nothing on this site should be read as an official statement by the U.S. Department of Education, any state agency, or any college or ranking publisher.

Third-party rankings

Ordinal ranks, list names and publisher grades shown here come from each publisher's own published edition. They are their editorial product. We reproduce them with attribution so readers can compare methodologies side by side. We do not publish our own “official” college ranking; our cross-source consensus figure is a derived average of list percentiles, described in full on the methodology page.

Publisher names (including U.S. News & World Report, Niche, Forbes, The Wall Street Journal / College Pulse, Washington Monthly, Money, The Princeton Review and QS) and related marks are trademarks of their respective owners. Best College Rankings is not sponsored, endorsed or administered by those publishers.

Federal and institutional data

Cost, completion, earnings and debt figures are ingested from the U.S. Department of Education's College Scorecard and from IPEDS via the National Center for Education Statistics, unless a figure is labelled Not reported with an explanation. Those sources define what is measured; we do not alter federal values. See verification for how we load and audit data.

Not professional advice

All content is provided for general information and research. It is not a substitute for advice from a school's admissions or financial aid office, a licensed financial adviser, a tax professional or an attorney. Net price, debt and earnings figures describe populations and reporting rules defined by federal collections; they may not match your family's experience.

Compensation and independence

Institutions do not pay to appear higher in sort order, consensus ranking or “best for…” lists on this site. We do not accept payment in exchange for ranking position, list inclusion or removal of documented considerations on a profile.

3 Enrollment Marketing may provide enrollment marketing or related services to colleges in other contexts. Those relationships do not change ranking order, consensus scores or list placement on Best College Rankings. Ordering logic is documented on the methodology page and is covered by automated tests in our codebase.

Accuracy and limitations

We work to keep figures current and correctly transcribed, but errors and delays happen — especially when a publisher releases a new edition or federal files update. The site is provided as is without warranties of any kind. Use ranking and cost data as one input among many, and confirm critical numbers with primary sources before you rely on them.

Privacy

Best College Rankings does not require an account to browse. We do not sell personal information. Standard web server and hosting logs may record IP addresses and request metadata for security and operations. If we add analytics or contact forms later, this page will describe them.
